Last year we found out we were having twins. At the appointment we learned they were girls it was also discovered one had a 4 cm SCT. It grew rapidly over the next month and a half and she later developed hydrops. I delivered my angels at 31 weeks, but after a very difficult surgery our Aria passed away just 3 days after birth. She was so strong and survived through so much so her sister (who is now 11 months and thriving) could be born later in my pregnancy. I was thinking of her today and remembered this site and Maia's story. My prayers are with those going through struggles with a child with SCT.

I am an SCT survivor! I was born in 1988 with an undiagnosed SCT. Tumor was removed at 1 day old. I had two benign recurrences at age 2 and 5. I also underwent urinary tract reconstruction and had a neurogenic bladder. I received follow up preventative care until age 12. Here I am at age 25, living proof that there is life beyond all this. I now have 3 children of my own and am living a happy and healthy life. I would love to reach out to fellow SCT survivors and/or parents dealing with the SCT diagnoses. Here is my e-mail, quickstepchloe@yahoo.com. I'd be happy to take anytime! So happy to have found a site like this! God bless!

My daughter was born with a SCT in 1997. She is a healthy, beautiful, almost 16 year old. We are trying to find information about reconstructive surgery. We live in the Denver area, but are willing to travel. We'd appreciate any information you can share.

We found out at 22 weeks our daughter had an SCT...and a very large one. We were sent to OSU and then on to CHildrens Hospital of Philadelphia. On April 24th she had fetal surgery to remove the teratoma. She stayed in another 2 weeks and then Was born at 27 weeks. She is now in the NICU and making progress. It's been a crazy journey. If you don't mind me posting...we kept a blog of the journey that people are welcome to check out: myfroggerblog.blogspot.com. Thanks for sharing your story...it was one of the few that gave us some hope during this journey.

I have twin granddaughters who will be delivered within the next 12 days they will be somewhere around 31 weeks. One of the twins is very small and not growing she will only weigh around 24 ounces when she is born. She has a SCT that is mostly external and about 7 cm. We are hoping and praying for these sweet little girls.
