I hope your son is doing well. I had a little girl whose SCT was not as ideal as yours and developed hydrops I delivered her at 22 weeks in 2001 with a poor outcome. I think of her often and wished we could have had more time with her. Good luck with your angel, I know how precious he is to you.

I am so thankful that Elijah is doing well and that Maia was able to meet her parents. Blessings to the parents of both babies.

My son Luke was born at 32 wks with SCT. Mass weighed 3lbs approx. He is now 7 mths old and very healthy although he has regular AFP blood tests and scans and has very large scar. SCT was in similar place to Elija but also internal. Luke is very happy and otherwise healthy baby. Wish I'd discovered this website when I was pregnant (was diagnosed at 12 wks and offered termination)

I am a 43 year old SCT survivor. My scaring was very bad but at 19 years old a sympathetic surgeon helped and now it is much improved. I have been married for 20 years and have a 17 year old daughter, I have just completed my degree and am training to be a teacher, hope this helps all new SCT parents. By the way my mum still worries about me!!!
